Shay Thurston
Hi there! I'm Shay, and I was born and raised in Lancaster, England. Growing up on a council estate taught me a lot and instilled my sense of community. It is a part of my identity I still carry with me. I'm a creator with an eye for the finer details and I strive to leave a piece of myself in everything I do. I was captivated by film and TV at a young age, and the idea of being a part of that world lit a fire in me. I entered and won writing competitions then started acting not long after.
During my time at drama school, I got the opportunity to step in as an on-set Make-up Artist and never looked back. As a lifelong make-up lover, this felt like a pipedream I never thought to follow. To do this alongside my acting I'm living a dream I didn't know I had.
From long-term writing projects to snapping scenes together, I'm inspired by the magic in the world around us and, more interestingly, the people who inhabit it. Those people have the most fascinating stories.
